The controller responsible for processing personal data in connection with Orbit is:

2. Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Orbit processes data when you use the Orbit iOS app and visit the Orbit website. Update the centralized company data and any remaining jurisdiction-specific wording before publishing it in production.

3. Core App Data

Orbit processes the information you enter into the app, such as contacts, reminders, interactions, notes, profile information and relationship metadata.

This data is used to provide the app's core functionality, including reminders, relationship history, and synchronization between your own devices.

Legal basis where applicable: performance of the service you request and, where relevant, legitimate interests in operating the app.

4. iCloud / CloudKit

Orbit uses Apple CloudKit / iCloud to synchronize app data between your Apple devices. Data stored in your iCloud account is processed by Apple under Apple's own privacy terms. Replace this wording if your final app architecture differs.

5. Notifications

If you allow notifications, Orbit schedules local reminders on your device. These notifications are used to remind you about follow-ups, birthdays, and important dates. Local notification content stays on the device and is not sent to Firebase as part of analytics.

6. Firebase Analytics

Orbit uses Firebase Analytics only after you explicitly opt in inside the app. Until you grant consent, Firebase Analytics collection remains disabled.

When enabled, we may process event data such as app opens, sessions, tab views, onboarding completion, contact creation, reminder creation, interaction logging, paywall interactions, legal page opens, and notification permission outcomes.

We configure analytics to avoid sending contact names, note contents, phone numbers, email addresses, reminder text or similar user content to Firebase.

Legal basis: your consent under the applicable privacy laws. You can withdraw this consent at any time in the app settings.

7. Firebase Crashlytics

If you opt in, Orbit also enables Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash-related diagnostics and technical metadata, such as app version, device model, operating system, timestamps, and stack traces.

Crash diagnostics help us identify and fix technical issues faster. Crashlytics is not intended to collect your contact content, reminder content, or private notes.

8. Recipients and International Transfers

Orbit may rely on Apple (for App Store, iCloud / CloudKit, and in-app purchase infrastructure) and Google Firebase (for Analytics and Crashlytics, if enabled).

Google Firebase may involve data processing on servers outside your country, including transfers to the United States. If you rely on international transfers, update this section to reflect the safeguards you actually use, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy mechanism where available.

9. Data Retention

App content you create remains stored on your device and, if enabled, in your iCloud account until you delete it.

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics data may be retained for the periods defined in your Firebase project settings. Review and configure those retention periods in Firebase before production launch.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights of access, rectification, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

12. Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page together with a revised update date.
